    Dear Boyfriend,

We are going to do this very soon. As in, the second college basketball ends. I know better than to deprive you of KU basketball.

    XOXO,

    Shea

We cut down to just basic cable shortly after we moved in together and we haven’t looked back.

    • We still get to watch all of our shows that we want to watch, in HD no less.
    • Our Xbox serves as our portal to Netflix Instant Watch, so we get a ton of movies piped in alongside our DVD’s that get mailed to us.
    • For shows that we can’t watch through those two means, we either watch them on Hulu or buy the episodes on our Apple TV. For us, the only show that is really affected is Mad Men.

I never thought we could cut the cable cord, but I couldn’t be happier that we did. We spend less time watching it because we are only watching things that we want to watch and not just watching because it’s on. Yes, I miss Nat Geo, Discovery, and the Food Network but I can live without it. Not being sports people has probably what has made this so easy. Even easier when I go back and think that we were paying $160 for a cable bill with internet and now it’s barely $60.

Hopefully your experience can be as positive as ours has been.

Without needing much of a reason, this just seems like the song that needs to be played all day long in my world.
